My first time as an EMCEE

Whewwww that was fun! I have never been an emcee before but when the opportunity arose to host Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival bike night I nervously said YES - and I absolutely loved it. Thank you for the opportunity VIMFF.

It really is quite nerve racking - but exhilarating standing up there in front of everyone. As scary is it was, I cannot wait to do it again!

I was so inspired by my friend, my mentor and my idol, Rebecca Rusch She gave a beautiful presentation on bikes as a vehicle for social change focusing on her work with @worldbicyclerelief (and her Kilimanjaro expedition) and a project she has been working on in Laos to clean up unexploded ordnances. Reba has been such an inspiration to me over the years and I am always in awe of everything that she does.

I was so inspired by all of the films and presentations. This is the kind of stuff that makes me so excited to get up every morning, ride my bike and unite people. Bikes are an incredible vehicle for social change.
